Our regulatory status

Company
PM Business Marketing Ltd, trading as MyBusinessComparison.com
Company number
12947191 (registered in England and Wales)
Registered office
27 Old Gloucester Street, London, WC1N 3AX
FCA status
MyBusinessComparison.com is not authorised or regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority. We are a partner (affiliate) of MyMoneyComparison.com, which is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FRN 916241).

MyBusinessComparison.com does not arrange, advise on, recommend, sell or administer insurance, and does not handle claims. Our guides are general information. Whether a policy suits your business is a question for a broker.

Our partner and the brokers it works with

"Get a quote" and similar buttons link to MyMoneyComparison.com, a comparison service that gives businesses a gateway to specialist insurance brokers. It is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FRN 916241). Brokers you are matched with are responsible for their own advice, quotes and policies, and are regulated in their own right.

You can check any firm on the FCA Financial Services Register (opens in a new tab).

How we are paid

Reading our guides is free and there is no obligation to buy. MyBusinessComparison.com is an affiliate of MyMoneyComparison.com, which may pay us a commission if you follow a link, are matched with a broker and speak to that broker.

The commission does not change what your business pays for a policy. No insurer or broker pays to appear in our guides, and commission plays no part in what a guide says.

How we keep our guides fair and clear

  • Each guide covers one type of cover, industry or trade, written for established UK businesses rather than sole traders.
  • Guides explain what insurers usually ask and what to check, and say plainly where practice varies between insurers.
  • We do not publish prices, savings claims, star ratings or rankings, and we do not claim to search the whole market.
  • Each guide shows the month it was last reviewed, and guides are revised when the practice or guidance they rely on changes.
  • If you spot an error or something out of date, email info@mybusinesscomparison.com and we will check it.

Our about page explains more about who we are.

Data protection

The website has no quote forms or accounts. With your consent we use Google Analytics to understand which pages are read, and if you email us we use your message only to reply. Information you enter on MyMoneyComparison.com is handled by it and the brokers you are matched with, under their own privacy policies.

The privacy policy and cookie policy have the full details.

FAQs

Compliance questions

How the website, our partner and brokers fit together.

Is MyBusinessComparison.com regulated by the FCA?

No. We publish information and do not carry out regulated insurance activity. Our partner, MyMoneyComparison.com, is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FRN 916241).

Who is responsible for the advice my business receives?

The broker your business speaks to. Brokers are responsible for their own advice, quotes and policies. Our guides are general information, not advice.

Does commission affect what your guides say?

No. Commission comes from MyMoneyComparison.com, not from insurers or brokers, and no firm pays to appear in a guide. It does not change your premium.

Can my business use the Financial Ombudsman Service?

It depends on size. The ombudsman can help smaller businesses, charities and trusts that meet its eligibility rules. Use the broker's or insurer's complaints process first, then check eligibility on its website.
